My name is Erika Johansson. Born 1980. I’m from a small town in the north of Sweden. I got my first watercolours from my grandfather when I was eleven and started painting zebras. Animals was my absolutely favourite thing to draw until I was at least 22. After that I just stumbled upon the anime Sailor Moon and I was hooked on the manga style. Loved the dynamic in the drawings and the characters expressions. Started painting manga figures all over my univeristy notes. I really had to start all over again trying to learn how to paint people since all my life I’ve just painted animals. That was really a challenge. I got my first Wacom in 99 and I’m still using the same. It’s from 89 but still working great. I think my real love for Photoshop came quite late, when I started painting realism portraits. Must have been around 2004 I think. I’m quite a varied artist. I can paint with every medium, but my favourites are my beloved watercolours (still use the ones my grandfather gave me) and of course Photoshop. I do love mixing medias and I quite recently started using airbrush as well. I’m always looking for new projects and my latest involve polymer clay and crochet works.
